At Cheongnyangni Station on Seoul Subway Line 1, a passenger who missed his stop opened a train door and stepped onto the tracks, delaying service.
According to Seoul Metro, at about 5:20 p.m. on the 5th, a man in his 50s identified as A used the emergency release device to open a train door and entered the tracks while the train was stopped at Cheongnyangni Station. Officials said he acted after failing to disembark at the terminal.
He then climbed onto the platform through the space beside the driver’s cab.
Station staff spotted him and intervened at around 5:30 p.m. Seoul Metro said northbound service toward Gwangwoon University was delayed by about 13 minutes and southbound service by about 5 minutes while staff responded. Train service has since returned to normal in both directions.
