This evening (the 5th) at 10:10 p.m., a magnitude-2.4 earthquake occurred about 8 km (5.0 miles) east-northeast of Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province.

The Korea Meteorological Administration identified the epicenter at 35.08°N, 127.07°E.

The agency calculated the quake’s depth at 11 km (about 6.8 miles).

The KMA said people near the epicenter may have felt shaking and urged residents to exercise caution.
