Eighty-two companies applied for Gyeonggi Province’s “2026 Gyeonggi Good Company” new-certification program, producing about an 8-to-1 competition ratio — up from roughly 7-to-1 last year.
Gyeonggi Province announced on April 5 that this year’s program will select 10 newly certified companies. Including 14 small- and medium-sized enterprises that sought re-certification after their three-year terms expired, the total number of applicants reached 96.
The Gyeonggi Good Company certification recognizes firms headquartered in the province or operating factories there that have been in business at least three years and that demonstrate social value through regional development, community contribution, or ethical management. The program has operated since 2015.
Certified companies receive a certificate and a plaque, earn bonus points when applying for provincial small-business support programs, and are eligible for incentives of up to 20 million KRW (about 15,000 USD).
Gyeonggi Province will complete document reviews, on-site inspections, and panel deliberations, announce the final 10 designees by August, and hold an awards ceremony.
Seobong-ja, head of the province’s Fair Economy Division, said, “Even amid difficult economic conditions, we’ve seen strong interest from companies leading efforts to create social value. Through fair and transparent screening, we will select Good Companies that serve as models of a healthy corporate culture.”
