It emerged late that a professor at a private university in Seoul has been sent to trial on charges of sexually assaulting a graduate student.
According to Yonhap News and Seoul police on April 3, the Dongjak Police Station referred Professor A of a private university to prosecutors in December, and prosecutors have recently indicted him.
Police received a complaint from the graduate student in September of last year. After roughly three months of investigation, investigators concluded the allegations were substantiated.
The professor has reportedly been placed on administrative leave. The university said it will convene a disciplinary committee and handle the matter according to its established rules and procedures.
