This competition, backed by the Ministry of Education, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gyeongsan City, aims to bolster local innovation through AX transformation scenarios that merge artificial intelligence (AI) with digital transformation (DX). The event focused on generating practical ideas across key regional sectors, including manufacturing and agriculture, as well as areas impacting daily life such as transportation and environmental issues.
The competition drew significant interest, with about 50 teams applying. Of these, 18 teams advanced to the finals after passing the initial screening. Finalists presented their AX transformation scenarios, tailored to the unique characteristics and challenges of the Gyeongbuk region, in a highly competitive showcase.
A panel of industry and academic experts judged the entries, evaluating creativity, feasibility, and potential regional impact. The top teams were awarded prizes totaling 5 million KRW (approximately 3,750 USD), including the prestigious Daegu Catholic University President’s Award. Notably, the most promising ideas will receive support for local project integration and startup development.
