Unlock Cultural Benefits: Apply for the 2026 Jeonnam Youth Welfare Card Worth 250,000 KRW!

Daniel Kim Views

[Point Economy] Gurae County is now accepting applications for the ‘2026 Jeonnam Youth Cultural Welfare Card’ program, which provides local young adults with an annual cultural welfare voucher worth 250,000 KRW (approximately 187.50 USD) until March 31.

This initiative offers young residents a debit card loaded with a voucher that can be used for various cultural and welfare activities within Jeollanam Province, including attending performances, purchasing books, and accessing sports facilities.

Eligible applicants must be between 19 and 28 years old and have maintained residency in Jeollanam Province for at least two years prior to February 9, 2024. There are no income restrictions, and previous recipients must reapply annually to continue receiving benefits.

In a notable change this year, the program will now fully support those who are also eligible for the Cultural Nuri Card, an improvement from the previous system that only covered the difference in benefits.

However, certain groups are excluded from the program, including public sector employees who receive welfare points, out-of-school youth receiving educational allowances, and those eligible for the Jeollanam-do women farmers and fishermen voucher program.

Applications can be submitted in person at local township offices starting February 9. Online applications will be available through the Nonghyup Card website beginning February 20.

The county will verify applicant eligibility and finalize the list of recipients in May, notifying them individually before issuing the vouchers. Recipients must use the funds by December 31, 2026.

A county official commented, “With the expansion allowing concurrent support for the Cultural Nuri Card this year, we expect more young adults to benefit from this program. We encourage all eligible individuals to apply, participate in diverse cultural activities, and establish themselves in our community.”
