The Suwon Immigration Office, led by Chief Song So-young, has distributed donations and supplies to vulnerable groups and immigrant households in the area to mark the Lunar New Year celebrations.
On February 10th, representatives from the Suwon Office visited the Suwon Nazareth House, a children’s welfare facility, where they donated 1 million KRW (about 750 USD) and rice prepared by the office’s Social Integration Council.
The Suwon Office also selected two families from the Immigrant Network facing financial hardships, providing them with monetary donations. Additionally, they distributed rice to all families within the network.
Chief Song So-young remarked, “The holiday season is a time for reflection on the importance of family and community.” She continued, “While our contribution may seem modest, we hope it fosters a sense of holiday warmth for everyone. Our office remains committed to ongoing initiatives that bring comfort to our community.”
In related efforts, the Suwon Office collaborates with the Social Integration Council and the Immigrant Network on various community service projects. These include providing scholarships for youth from immigrant backgrounds, organizing community volunteer work, and facilitating supply donations.
