Jang Dong-hyuk, chairman of the People Power Party, will participate in a volunteer meal delivery service for vulnerable groups in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 13th, just before the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to an Aju Economy report on the 10th, Jang and other party leaders plan to deliver meals from the Jungnim Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. This volunteer effort is seen as a move to support socially disadvantaged individuals while also expanding the party’s outreach.
A senior party official stated, “This is an initiative focused on citizens’ well-being ahead of the Lunar New Year. We aim to attentively care for the socially vulnerable and address people’s everyday needs.”
The volunteer activity will be organized by the “Together Committee,” recently renamed from the “Committee for Accompanying the Vulnerable.” Committee chairperson Representative Jo Ji-yeon and the organizational chairperson for Jung and Seongdong districts in Seoul, Representative Choi Soo-jin, will participate in the event.
However, it appears that the party leadership will forgo the traditional New Year greetings typically held at locations like Seoul Station during holidays. Last year, Jang and floor leader Song Eon-seok chose to volunteer making songpyeon (traditional rice cakes) instead of conducting the usual holiday greetings before the Chuseok holiday.
