
Support for People Power Party candidate Yoo Jeong-bok in the Incheon mayoral race has expanded in the opening days of the campaign.
Policy experts, civic leaders and environmental figures have visited the campaign, adding momentum.
At the Jeongbok campaign office in Juan-dong, Michuhol District, Incheon, public endorsements from leaders across various fields continued on the 14th.
At the “1,000 Policy Experts” declaration held that afternoon, former research institute officials and experts from academia and public administration publicly pledged their support for Yoo.
They emphasized that Yoo’s extensive administrative experience and proven leadership are essential to securing Incheon’s future competitiveness.
They also praised his ability to address key issues, including improving transportation infrastructure, delivering citizen-focused policies, strengthening urban competitiveness, and building a foundation for future growth.
Yoo said, “Policy is the most practical way to change citizens’ lives,” and pledged to actively incorporate the diverse views raised on the ground into city governance.
Representatives from the National Environmental Guardians Alliance also visited the campaign and publicly endorsed him, citing the administration’s accomplishments during the eighth term.
That same morning, civic groups from Seo-gu, Incheon, reinforced their support through public endorsements.
They said, “Incheon stands at a turning point for sustainable growth and balanced development,” adding, “We need a candidate with experience solving local problems and strong administrative capabilities.”
They said Yoo’s experience in both central and local government gives him a broad understanding of the region’s economic and urban development challenges.
They added that Yoo’s ability to implement policy would play a key role in resolving Incheon’s problems and strengthening its future competitiveness.
