Han Dong-hoon, the former leader of the People Power Party who has declared his candidacy in the National Assembly by-election for Busan’s Buk-gu A constituency, has been focusing his campaign on voter outreach by attending local events and traditional markets.
On the 25th, Han posted on his Facebook page that he attended the Mandeok 2-dong Youth Association’s 104th Senior Citizens’ Day event.
Posting photos from the event, he wrote that many seniors attended and appeared to enjoy themselves, and he pledged to honor and respect the elderly.
At the event, he personally served food, sat at the same tables as residents, and shook hands with attendees, demonstrating hands-on engagement with the community.
Earlier, Han signed a lease on an apartment in Buk-gu, Busan, and filed a change-of-address on the 14th.
Immediately after registering his move, he said he had decided to live for the people of Busan and that, when he makes a decision, he sees it through; he vowed to make this place both the beginning and the end of his political career.
He then visited nearby schools, Gupo Market and other parts of the city, repeatedly bowing to residents and pledging to do a good job.
The day before, he disclosed that he had joined the North Busan Saemaeul Credit Union as a member, stressing that he intends to become more of a genuine Buk-gu resident each day.
