[Herald Economy (Cheongdo)=Kim Byung-jin, Reporter] Lee Sun-hee, the People Power Party’s preliminary candidate for Cheongdo County mayor, opened her campaign office on the 18th and formally launched her primary campaign.
About 1,000 people attended the opening, including former lawmaker Cho Myung-hee, former county head Lee Jung-geun, Yoon Dong-hwan, chairman of Korea Kolmar Co., Baek Su-hwan, president of the Cheongdo County Senior Citizens Association, local elders, clan representatives, and other supporters.
Lee outlined core pledges to extend the Daegu–Cheongdo metropolitan rail line, complete a project to double residents’ incomes, create a “happy jobs” community, and implement a data-driven transparent administrative system.
In her remarks, Lee said, “I am running determined to rebuild Cheongdo and restore our residents’ pride.” She added, “I stand here to excise the old, harmful practices that have wounded Cheongdo and to restore the fairness and common sense that have been eroded.”
