On the 10th, the council convened its 299th special session, commencing a three-day meeting scheduled to run through the 12th, beginning with the first plenary session.
This special session will examine eight key agenda items, including two proposals from council members—such as the “Yeoncheon County Night Tourism Activation and Support Ordinance” introduced by Councilman Park Young-cheol—and six items submitted by the executive branch, including amendments to the Agricultural Products Big Market Festival operating ordinance.
The council will also address the appointment of the 2025 fiscal year audit committee and consider a resolution urging Yeoncheon County’s selection for the Gyeonggi Living Return Project.
Prior to the plenary session, Councilmen Park Young-cheol and Yoon Jae-goo will present their perspectives on critical local issues and development strategies during a five-minute open forum.
In her opening remarks, Chairwoman Kim Mi-kyung stated, “As I approach the end of my term, I feel a profound sense of responsibility,” adding, “I will continue to attentively listen to our citizens’ concerns and diligently fulfill my duties.”
She further emphasized, “The council will provide unwavering support to ensure that the basic income program for rural areas, set to be fully implemented this year, enhances our citizens’ quality of life and revitalizes our local community.”
