Namyangju City spearheads efforts to uphold liberal democratic values and foster community growth.

Namyangju City officials announced that the annual general meeting of the Korea Freedom Federation’s Namyangju branch took place on February 10 at the city’s second government building.

The gathering served to outline the Namyangju branch’s operational strategy for the year and reinforce organizational cohesion. City representatives acknowledged the organization’s pivotal role in safeguarding liberal democratic principles and contributing to local development.

The event drew over 40 participants, including Namyangju Deputy Mayor Kim Sang-soo, along with executives and members of the local Korea Freedom Federation chapter. Following the general meeting, a ceremony was held to appoint and inaugurate new advisory committee members, during which the organization’s key initiatives and future plans were discussed.

This meeting held particular significance as it marked Deputy Mayor Kim Sang-soo’s first official engagement with members since assuming office.

In his address, Deputy Mayor Kim expressed his appreciation, stating, “I’m deeply grateful for the dedication shown by Chairman Bae Jin-seong and all members.” He continued, “Through diverse initiatives such as the Posuni Volunteer Group and the Peace and Unification Walking Festival, the Korea Freedom Federation plays a crucial role in our community.”

He further declared, “This year, we’re launching our ‘Zero Safety Incidents’ campaign. In partnership with relevant agencies, we’re conducting comprehensive safety inspections on over 400 key facilities. Moving forward, we’re committed to maintaining close collaboration with the Korea Freedom Federation to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens.”

A city spokesperson commented, “As this was Deputy Mayor Kim’s inaugural meeting, it provided a valuable opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to cooperation between the organization and the city.” The official added, “Namyangju City is dedicated to maintaining open lines of communication with the local Korea Freedom Federation chapter as we work together to create a safer and more prosperous community.”
