The Democratic Party’s Busan chapter has unveiled a new collective intelligence platform called the ‘Busan Citizens’ Question Q Center,’ where residents can directly pose questions and receive answers, as announced on February 10.
This innovative platform allows Busan citizens to inquire about political issues, the city’s future vision, and everyday concerns. Experts from various fields will serve as curators, providing responses and facilitating public discussions on these matters.
The center welcomes questions from anyone through online surveys. The gathered opinions will undergo public deliberation, ultimately leading to expert responses and the development of practical policies.

The roster of curators includes prominent figures such as National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik, Democratic Party Senior Vice Chair Lee An-joo, Policy Committee Chair Han Jeong-ae, and Secretary General Jo Seung-rae. They are joined by lawmakers with specialized expertise like Lee Jae-gang, Moon Geum-joo, Hwang Jeong-a, and former Democratic Research Institute Director Oh Chang-seok.
The initiative also benefits from the participation of local political veterans, including former National Assembly member Park Jae-ho, Busan City Party Chairman Byeon Seong-wan, and Kim Sang-yoon, who heads the Busan Democratic Research Institute, along with a team of research specialists.
Kang Jong-kyu, director of the Busan Citizens’ Question Q Center, emphasized their mission: “We aim to collect everyday questions from ordinary citizens, such as ‘What can be done about lane markings that disappear in the rain?’ and ‘How will Busan’s status as a maritime capital truly transform the city?’ Our goal is to address these overlooked issues and drive innovation in Busan’s political landscape.”
