
In a press release issued today (February 10), the party announced the selection of eight members to serve on this special committee.
The appointees include Representative Jeong Tae-ho, who currently serves as the party’s secretary in the National Assembly’s Finance and Economy Committee, along with Representatives Jin Sung-jun, Jeong Il-young, and Ahn Do-gul.
The committee roster is further bolstered by Representatives Heo Young and Kim Hyun-jung from the Political Affairs Committee, as well as Representatives Jeong Jin-wook and Park Ji-hye from the Industry, Trade, Resources, and Small and Medium Enterprises Committee.
On the other side of the aisle, the opposition People Power Party made its appointments yesterday (February 9). They named Representative Kim Sang-hoon from the Political Affairs Committee as the chair of the special committee and rounded out their delegation with Representatives Park Soo-young, Kang Min-guk, Kang Seung-kyu, Kang Myung-kyu, Park Sang-woong, and Park Seong-hoon.
An additional member representing the non-negotiating group is expected to be announced in the near future.
The special committee has set an ambitious timeline, aiming to process the U.S. Investment Special Act by March 9.
