During her announcement, Cheon stated, “I aim to end the era of career politicians and become a mayor who proves her worth through competence, initiating a dramatic turnaround for Ansan.”
She went on to say, “While neighboring cities have progressed, Ansan has remained stagnant. Our city now needs a leader with diverse experience and practical skills across all urban sectors, not someone focused on a single area.”

Cheon highlighted her qualifications, stating, “As a three-term Gyeonggi council member, I’ve gained 12 years of experience in education, welfare, and economic affairs. Having served as the head of the Strategic Business Division at Gyeonggi Technopark, I understand how to develop effective policies and achieve results in public administration.”
Her campaign platform includes attracting a big tech data center, relocating the Gwacheon Racecourse to Ansan, transforming the local stadium into a multi-purpose cultural arena, and constructing a sports complex in Ansan.
Cheon emphasized, “I will initiate change in Ansan with proven executive skills that deliver results beyond mere administration, and I’ll take full responsibility for seeing it through. I’m committed to creating a city where residents can proudly say, ‘I’m honored to live in Ansan.'”
Previously, Cheon served as the secretary-general of the Gyeonggi Province Childcare Facility Association and headed the Strategic Business Division at Gyeonggi Technopark. She currently serves as a central committee member of the Democratic Party.
