[SPOTV News — Reporter Hye-won Jeong] BTS has secured a place in the Top 10 of Billboard’s flagship singles chart, the Hot 100, for a fourth consecutive week.
On April 21, U.S. music publication Billboard reported on its website that “Swim,” the lead single from BTS’s fifth full-length album, “Arirang,” rose to No. 10 on the Hot 100 chart dated April 25.
After debuting at No. 1 on the April 4 chart, the song has remained in the upper tier for a month and has topped the Digital Song Sales chart for four straight weeks.
The Hot 100 weights U.S. streaming, radio airplay and sales data; sustained success on that chart indicates BTS’s audience has broadened significantly.
In a chart preview published on April 20, Billboard placed “Arirang” at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, marking the album’s fourth consecutive week in the Top 3. The record surpasses the performance of their sixth EP, “Map of the Soul: Persona” (which peaked at No. 8), and marks a new career high.
While on tour worldwide, BTS plans to expand the “BTS The City: Arirang” project internationally.
