Dalseo Arts Center will present the fourth installment of its DSAC Art Selection series on Thursday the 21st with a recital by the brother piano duo Hyuk and Hyo Lee.
DSAC Art Selection is a curated series that highlights contemporary performances with artistic vision and strong craftsmanship. This program pairs brothers Hyuk and Hyo Lee, who both advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 International Chopin Piano Competition. They will alternate between solo and duo repertoire, contrasting individual voices with tightly knit ensemble work.
The program spans eras and styles, including works by Chopin, Gershwin, Arthur Benjamin and Rachmaninoff. In the first half, Hyuk Lee will play Chopin’s Fantaisie in F minor, and Hyo Lee will perform Scherzo No. 4, each revealing distinct interpretive voices. The two pianists will then present Gershwin’s Fantasia on Porgy and Bess in Percy Grainger’s arrangement, showcasing the vitality of a two-piano ensemble.
In the second half, the brothers will emphasize their chemistry in Arthur Benjamin’s Six Caribbean Pieces for two pianos and in Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.

Pianist Hyuk Lee studied with Vladimir Ovchinnikov at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and graduated from the École Normale de Musique de Paris, where he received the Cortot Prize. He won first prize at the 2022 Long–Thibaud International Competition and has appeared with ensembles such as the NHK Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Versailles. His younger brother, Hyo Lee, also graduated from the École Normale de Musique de Paris; he took third prize at the Long–Thibaud Competition and continues to perform on major European stages.
