By Kim Jong-chul, Sports Seoul Singer Jung Il-hoon (ILHOON) released his new single, ‘Devil Can Wait,’ at 6 p.m. on May 8 across major streaming platforms.
The track is the third installment in Jung’s RGB SGNL project, which uses color as a central organizing theme to broaden the work’s musical direction and atmosphere. In earlier entries, he has been shaping a distinctive sonic palette.
‘Devil Can Wait’ channels early-2000s pop‑rock and alternative textures through a contemporary lens. Jung worked with producer PakOde and drew inspiration from the music of Avril Lavigne, an artist he listened to often as a child.
The project’s previously released concept artwork echoes that period: retro imagery and styling that align with the song’s mood and carry the series’ visual direction forward.
Through RGB SGNL, Jung continues to explore the relationship between color and sound. The series runs alongside his full-length album ‘The Adam,’ with each installment built around a different mood and color scheme; ‘Devil Can Wait’ introduces a fresh tone to that ongoing narrative.
Additional special video content will be released in the days following the single’s debut, and Jung says he plans to keep expanding the RGB SGNL series’ musical range. jckim99@sportsseoul.com
