[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong ent@stoo.com] The Korea Music Label Industry Association (KMLIA), which operates \”Kindi Lounge,\” has selected and highlighted major releases that came out in April. The picks span band-driven rock to intimate singer‑songwriter records, reflecting a wide range of indie approaches.
First up, Soran, a band on MPMG Music, keeps its signature upbeat energy with the new single \”Delivery.\” The group’s knack for turning everyday moments into witty vignettes stands out here. The song feels light on its feet while maintaining a grounded emotional core, pairing a warm message with tight, rhythmic instrumentation.
Diversity, a band signed to Your Summer, released the single \”3 Million Light-Years.\” Issued ahead of their first full-length album, the pre-release track frames a love story against a cosmic backdrop. What begins as an offhand, joking confession gradually grows earnest, mapping emotions that drift between reality and imagination.
Singer-songwriter Hong Isak, under Archive Morning, presents a deeper musical palette on his latest album. Built on spare arrangements and an uncluttered sound, the record gently unfolds feelings drawn from daily life, creating an immersive atmosphere. His vocal delivery is restrained and unforced.
Lucy, a band on Mystic Story, released their second full-length album, \”Childish,\” on April 29. Framed around childlike wonder, the record revisits the purity and sense of self too easily lost in adulthood. This is Lucy’s first full-group album since member Shin Kwang-il completed his military service; arriving roughly 1 year and 8 months after their previous release, it broadens the band’s musical range.
The releases highlighted here offer a snapshot of the indie scene’s varied currents, each showcasing different genres and expressive approaches. Kindi Lounge says it will continue spotlighting artists and labels by focusing coverage on major new releases.
