On the 30th, his wife posted on social media, thanking those who loved JerryK and expressing gratitude to everyone who stayed with him in his final moments. She said she will preserve the online spaces that hold his memories.
In 2024, JerryK disclosed he had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive malignant brain tumor. He underwent surgery and additional treatment but died on the 27th of last month at age 42.

A graduate of Seoul National University’s Department of Communication and Journalism, JerryK first entered the music scene in 2001 as one half of the rap duo Roquence. He later became an original member of the Soul Company collective and pursued a wide range of musical projects.
His 2008 studio album, Ma-Wang, earned him that nickname and kept him a steady presence in the hip-hop scene.
