[EPN Enpinow reporter Go Nari] Yang Hyun-suk, YG Entertainment’s chief producer, has publicly outlined activity plans for BabyMonster and TREASURE in 2026, raising expectations across the global music market.
On April 30, YG Entertainment published a blog post titled “BabyMonster, TREASURE, and New Group Announcements.” The post revealed track details for BabyMonster’s third mini album, Chum (Korean for “Dance”), and offered an update on TREASURE’s forthcoming album.
“Moon (MOON),” which debuts on the mini album, is a hip-hop track with a dark, moody atmosphere. Yang said the song represents YG’s first collaboration with an overseas producer team and highlighted its polished sound design.
Yang said the title track, “Chum,” involved an unusually large creative effort: ten choreography teams were brought in — far more than usual — and the group spent an extended period refining the performance. Yang personally participated in arranging the chorus choreography. The album’s tracklist also includes the rhythmic “I Like It (I LIKE IT)” and the emotionally charged “Locked In (LOCKED IN).”
YG plans to roll out four music videos from the album in sequence. The title-track video is scheduled for May, followed in June by a digital single tentatively titled “Sugar Honey.” Fans can expect the “I Like It” video in July and the “Moon” video in August.
TREASURE is slated to release a new mini album on June 1. The four-track record leans on hip-hop, and Yang described it as his most personally satisfying project to date.
Yang said BabyMonster’s album will arrive first, with TREASURE’s following about a month later. “We want to bring fans great joy and emotion,” he said, adding that YG will gradually introduce its rookie groups in the months ahead.
