[SPOTV News — Reporter Kim Won-gyeom] Singer-songwriter Gureum is preparing a concert built around an unconventional concept.
She will present What If at Vel.r (formerly Veloju) in Seogyo-dong, Seoul, on May 16 at 6 p.m.
The show explores the prompt “What if X were Y?” and promises to gather Gureum’s music from several imagined parallel universes into a single program.
Rather than centering the performance on songs from her own albums, Gureum will assemble a setlist composed of tracks she wrote or helped produce for other artists.
From February through March, she drew attention with a series of solo shows celebrating her fourth studio album. Each performance had a distinct concept and setlist, and she laid out a multidimensional musical world—ranging from full-band arrangements to piano-and-wind ensembles and LED-driven visuals.
Under the parallel-universe theme of bringing scattered pieces together, she aims to sharpen the focus on her wide-ranging skills as a songwriter, producer and performer.
Gureum has stayed active between album releases and festival appearances. In January she released a Japanese version of \”Lost Item of Winter,\” one of the three lead singles from her fourth album, Airplane Mode, and followed that with a successful run of album-release concerts.
She will continue performing in May, appearing at a number of festivals including the 2026 Byeotdeun Jari.
