[TV Daily reporter Jinseok Kim] K-pop group Billlie unveiled a video for a track that samples Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake.
On April 23, Billlie (Siyoon, Sheon, Tsuki, Moon Sua, Haram, Suhyun, Haruna) premiered “Cartography of the Unconscious” (CARTOGRAPHY OF THE UNCONSCIOUS), the track video for the album song “Secret No More” ($ECRET no more), on their official social channels. The song appears on their first full-length album, The Collective Soul and Unconscious: Chapter Two. Rendered in the style of a 1990s European dark-fantasy animation, the video pairs dreamlike visuals with an undercurrent of unease, using abstract imagery to convey an unsettling beauty. The group confronts the turbulent depths of the unconscious and lays bare a truer sense of self. Through evocative imagery, Billlie traces, in sensory terms, the process of recognizing hidden emotions, accepting them, and emerging whole. The title “Secret No More” recalls Billlie’s debut-era track “Everybody’s Got a $ECRET.” Where the earlier song posed questions about the key to secrecy, this new work suggests a step forward: shedding buried unconsciousness to complete a more mature growth narrative. Musically, “Secret No More” weaves a sampled motif inspired by Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake with trap beats, forging Billlie’s distinctive take on classical influence. Member Moon Sua co-wrote the lyrics, sharpening the song’s emotional density and narrative clarity. Near the video’s close, the group teases the arrival of a new “Billlie & Lovers” character closely tied to the album’s storyline, amplifying curiosity. Fans are eager to learn the identity of the figure emerging from Billlie’s unconscious and to see how the Billiverse (Billlie + universe) will expand. The Collective Soul and Unconscious: Chapter Two continues the conceptual thread from Billlie’s February 2022 EP, The Collective Soul and Unconscious: Chapter One. If the earlier release explored the emergence of fractures, the new album delves into the courage required to step into those fissures. Across music and performance, Billlie communicates a steadfast resolve to protect themselves from outside influences. Billlie will release their first full-length album, The Collective Soul and Unconscious: Chapter Two, on May 6 at 6 p.m. across major streaming platforms.
