[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] Actor Kim Nam-gil apologized for the stage-name mix-up on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block.
On the April 8 broadcast of tvN’s variety show You Quiz on the Block, Kim appeared as he returns to music.
He began, \”It feels different coming as a singer rather than as an actor. With the song ‘I’m Coming to You,’ I’m greeting audiences as a singer for the first time in 16 years.\”

He added, \”I couldn’t say anything back when ‘Pinkaego’ came out. During my ‘Bidam’ days I released a fan song, and at every show fans would sing along to that one track. I wanted to give them another song as a gift. I didn’t expect this to grow so big.\”
When host Yoo Jae-suk asked whether reports saying he’d promote under the name ‘Cool Tone’ were true, Kim clarified, \”There was a misunderstanding. We planned to use ‘Cool Tone’ as a band name and shape songs around that concept. But I didn’t read all the messages in the company chat and I replied that it sounded good, which led to the communication mix-up.\”
Yoo Jae-suk noted, \”No wonder people commented, ‘If he’s warm-toned, why ‘Cool Tone’? Isn’t it ‘sul-tone’ (drunk-tone)?’\” Kim apologized, \”I’m sorry for causing confusion.\”
