[Sports Today reporter Song O-jung] Lee Sona, the winner of ‘Miss Trot 4,’ moved viewers when her mother—who is battling Parkinson’s disease and has limited mobility—joined her onstage during the victory moment and shared an emotional reaction.
On the broadcast on the 2nd of TV Chosun’s ‘Miss Trot 4 – Talk Concert,’ behind-the-scenes footage from the show’s final round was shown.
Immediately after being crowned the fourth champion in the ‘Miss Trot’ series, Lee Sona celebrated with her family. Her husband recalled, \”When the first ‘Miss Trot’ aired, I would watch a commercial showing her from behind and cry. That image never left me, and every time my wife practiced it would come back. Now that this moment has arrived, I’m deeply moved.\”
With assistance from security staff, Lee Sona’s mother was able to make it onstage to see her daughter. She broke down in tears when they met.

Lee Sona’s mother reflected, \”Maybe a day like this can come for us too. I thought only hard times, misfortune, and illness would come our way, so I never imagined this day… I hope many people find comfort in Lee Sona’s music.\”
Not only her mother but her father and husband were also at the venue. Viewers quickly focused on the husband who appeared on camera when the winner was announced, and it later emerged that Lee Sona’s husband is actor Kang Sang-jun, which intensified public interest.
Reacting to the barrage of stories about her husband, Lee Sona said, \”I don’t know why there are so many articles about him… It feels like he’s more known now as ‘Lee Sona’s husband.’\”
Asked how her husband reacted, Lee Sona replied, \”He cried tears of joy. He watched my full transition from traditional Korean music to trot, so it seemed to resonate deeply with him. He was happy and truly congratulated me.\”
