Rising K-pop band VOID (V01D) is set to drop their pre-release single, marking their official debut in the music scene.
Scheduled for release at noon on the 3rd, “ROCKROCK” (樂樂) serves as VOID’s introductory track. While the song’s surface narrative revolves around love, its underlying message embodies the quintet’s determination and aspirations.
The track boasts a vibrant pop-punk sound, featuring an infectious guitar riff, powerful drum beats, and an energetic 8-bit bass line that drives the song forward.
The lyrics convey a powerful message: “No matter what challenges we face, we’ll respond with a smile. That’s our solution.” This sentiment metaphorically expresses the band’s resolve to overcome obstacles with unwavering positivity.
The song’s structure—”Dawn’s Touch like a shattered dream Night / Light-drenched Highway Crash again …… Our song is Bad decisions / Broken hearts No permissions”—is concise yet evocative, painting vivid emotional imagery.
With its catchy chorus, “ROCKROCK” is designed for sing-along appeal. Despite its upbeat tempo, the song’s sectional arrangement showcases the band’s cohesive musicianship, promising an electrifying live performance while striking a balance between mainstream appeal and VOID’s signature sound.
What sets “ROCKROCK” apart is the collaborative effort behind its creation. All five members—Song Yu-chan (drums), Jo Ju-yeon (vocals), Jeong Ji-seop (guitar/vocals), Kevin Park (keyboard/vocals), and Shin Nosuke (bass)—were involved in writing, composing, and arranging the track.
This debut single symbolizes VOID’s fresh start in the industry, capturing the members’ unity and their commitment to facing future challenges as a team. Developed through spontaneous jam sessions, the song exudes a natural, high-energy vibe that highlights their unique musical identity.
