K-pop sensations ENHYPEN and aespa have hit a new milestone in Japan, earning coveted ‘Platinum’ certifications from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
The RIAJ announced on the 10th that ENHYPEN’s seventh mini-album ‘THE SIN: VANISH’ and aespa’s Japanese debut single ‘Hot Mess’ have both achieved Gold Disc Platinum status.
Both releases surpassed the 250,000 unit shipment mark in January, meeting the Platinum threshold.
The RIAJ’s certification system recognizes albums and singles based on cumulative shipments, with tiers including Gold (100,000+), Platinum (250,000+), Double Platinum (500,000+), and Triple Platinum (750,000+).
Adding to the K-pop dominance in Japan, SEVENTEEN sub-unit DK and Seungkwan’s mini-album ‘So Ya Gok’ and rookie group AILET’s Japanese debut single ‘Toki Yo Tomare’ also secured Gold certifications, further solidifying the genre’s stronghold in the Japanese music market.
