Global sensation BTS is gearing up for a massive free comeback concert next month, with an estimated 15,000 fans expected to fill Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.
Industry insiders revealed on the 10th that event organizers are in talks with Seoul City officials to accommodate approximately 15,000 attendees, combining standing room and reserved seating, for the highly anticipated ‘BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG’ on March 21.
This free concert, set to take place the day after BTS drops their fifth studio album ‘Arirang,’ promises to be a spectacle. The septet plans to kick off their performance with a grand procession from Gyeongbokgung Palace, passing through Gwanghwamun and its surroundings, before taking the stage at the northern edge of Gwanghwamun Square.
The group announced via their fan platform Weverse that they’re offering 2,000 lucky fans who pre-order the new album by the 13th a chance to snag coveted standing area tickets. The released seating chart reveals a T-shaped stage with a runway, surrounded by the standing area for an immersive fan experience.
Behind the standing area, reserved seating will stretch along Gwanghwamun Square. While the exact seat count is still being finalized, sources suggest a total capacity of around 15,000, including the 2,000 standing spots. Fans can try their luck for reserved seats starting on the 23rd through NOL Ticket.
In a bid to include even more fans, organizers are exploring the possibility of setting up a massive screen near Seoul Plaza for public viewing. This move could potentially draw an even larger crowd of ticketless fans eager to be part of the event. Law enforcement estimates that the turnout could reach a staggering 230,000 people from the stage area to Deoksugung Palace’s Daehanmun, and up to 260,000 extending to Sungnyemun.
In a groundbreaking move, this concert will be livestreamed on Netflix to over 190 countries worldwide, marking the first time a major Korean event will be broadcast globally through the streaming giant.
