Polestar, the electric-vehicle brand under Geely Automobile Group, posted its strongest first-quarter performance to date.
Polestar said on April 9 that global retail sales totaled 13,126 units in the first quarter, a 7% increase year over year.
Michael Rosheller, Polestar’s chief executive officer, said, \”Following last year’s record results, we delivered the strongest first-quarter retail sales on record. Solid performances in key markets — Australia, Germany, Sweden, South Korea and the U.K. — reflect the team’s work and the brand’s competitiveness.\”
He added, \”Even as geopolitical pressures make the market environment more challenging, these first-quarter results demonstrate Polestar’s resilient business foundation.\”
Meanwhile, Polestar plans to continue expanding its global sales network and aims to operate roughly 250 sales locations by year-end. As of the end of the first quarter, it had 230 retail outlets worldwide.
