Genesis, marking its 10th anniversary, has unveiled an ambitious blueprint for the next decade.

The plan calls for 22 new or substantially revised models to reach North America by 2030, targeting virtually every niche in the luxury market.

At the 2026 New York Auto Show, Genesis product planning director Ash Corson outlined the brand’s sweeping expansion strategy, according to a local automotive outlet.

He said Genesis’ second decade could include everything from the rollout of hybrid powertrains to high-performance models, off-roaders, wagons and bespoke customization programs.

The most notable change will be the rollout of hybrid powertrains.

Corson said, “Even for luxury cars, total cost of ownership (TCO) matters,” and indicated Genesis will soon introduce hybrid models to broaden the brand’s appeal.

Genesis is evaluating not only conventional internal-combustion hybrid variants but also plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and range-extended electric vehicles (EREV) as part of a wider electrification strategy.

The company also plans to move downmarket with smaller models positioned beneath the G70 and GV70. Potential additions include a GV60 successor available with multiple powertrains, a compact luxury sedan or even a hatchback.

V8 Supercar and Off-Roader…The Evolution of High-Performance ‘Magma’

Genesis is also building out models aimed at driving enthusiasts.

As boxy, traditional off-roaders such as the Lexus GX regain popularity, Genesis has hinted at an adventurous off-roader with the flowing ‘X Gran Equator’ concept SUV that favors sleek styling over rugged, angular lines.

At the performance end, the brand’s ‘Magma’ line will be central.

Highlights include the mid-engine, V8-powered Magma GT—a direct competitor to mid-engine sports cars like the Chevrolet Corvette—and a high-performance electric variant in the form of the GV60 Magma. The V8 JPY (about $0) developed for the Magma GT could also be adapted across other Genesis performance models, raising expectations among fans.

‘My Genesis’ Bespoke Service and the G90 Wagon

Genesis plans to offer a bespoke ‘My Genesis’ customization program aimed at the top end of the luxury market.

Borrowing the one-to-one individualization model used by brands like Bentley and Rolls-Royce, Genesis intends to leverage its production know-how to deliver similarly tailored cars at far more attainable price points.

The company is also exploring bold moves on the design front.

Rumors about a production version of the G90-based station wagon—marketed as the ‘G90 Wingback’—remain alive.

In an interview with local media, Corson stopped short of confirming Wingback production but added, “We have the privilege of taking bolder, more ambitious risks than traditional luxury brands.”

Genesis plans to start unveiling elements of its 22-model program as early as the end of this year, with full-scale production possibly beginning in 2027.

Industry watchers expect a headline model that will outline Genesis’ expansion strategy to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this fall.
