As Zeekr, Geely Group’s premium electric-vehicle brand, prepares to enter the South Korean market, it released a video answering consumer questions to open a direct line of communication.

On the 27th, Zeekr Korea posted a video titled ‘Zeekr Is Watching’ on its official YouTube channel to address consumer questions about the domestic launch timeline and vehicle specifications.

The video formally responded to questions that had been circulating on online forums and social media, signaling that Zeekr has entered the final phase of meeting South Korea’s strict certification requirements.

From this release, Zeekr plans to roll out the official launch date and detailed specs in stages, expanding engagement with Korean buyers.

The video features answers from Jin Bo-an, Zeekr Korea’s marketing manager, to eight questions covering the Korea launch schedule, the first model to be offered, vehicle specs and options, and plans for showrooms and service centers.

Jin said, “We are undergoing certification and are in the final stage of preparing a vehicle that exceeds certification standards and satisfies consumer requirements.”

Leading Zeekr’s Korean rollout will be the 7X, a mid-size SUV engineered for lifestyle-oriented use in Korea’s mobility environment.

Jin emphasized Korea’s strategic importance, noting that “outside China, Korea will be the first market to receive the facelifted 7X.”

Zeekr will offer two battery options: a 75 kWh LFP “Golden” battery developed in-house and a 100 kWh NCM pack supplied by CATL, the world’s largest battery manufacturer.

The company also revealed key interior and exterior features for the 7X. The front end will include a ‘Stargate’ light assembly made up of more than 1,000 LEDs, and an automatic open/close system will be fitted to all doors.

A refrigerator capable of precise temperature control from -15°C to 50°C (5°F to 122°F) serves multiple uses—from storing food and drinks at campsites to keeping infant bottles warm.

The ‘Zeekr Sound Pro’ audio system produces 2,160W through 21 speakers, including the driver and front-passenger headrests, and supports 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos.

Zeekr clarified its autonomous-driving approach: rather than LiDAR, the 7X will offer Level 2 driver-assistance features as standard, using radar- and camera-based systems for adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automatic lane changes.

Jin explained the decision to exclude LiDAR by saying that Korea’s autonomous-driving regulations and testing environment are not yet sufficiently mature.

“We judged it more valuable to provide technically effective, practical options for Korean consumers than to install LiDAR immediately,” he added.

On sales channels, Zeekr said it will sell the 7X through dealers to prioritize consumers’ first impressions and aftercare services.

Zeekr showrooms operated by H Mobility ZK, IronEV, KCC Mobility, and ZK Mobility are being prepared in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon and other major regional cities. Service centers will be established regionally as well, with plans for at least one facility per region, including Jeju.

Jin said the Korean market is a crucial proving ground for Zeekr, and that consumer feedback will play a major role in shaping future lineup expansion.
