KG Mobility is accelerating its push into future technologies by expanding beyond autonomous driving into the development of AI humanoid robots to secure next-generation capabilities.
KGeneral Motors recently signed an MOU with the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute to develop AI humanoid technology.
Following earlier collaboration on autonomous-driving AI, the partners are extending cooperation into robotics, accelerating the transition to an AI-based future mobility company.
Joining a National Project…
Targeting Global Technology Competition

Humanoid example – Source : Boston Dynamics
This collaboration is part of the national project known as the \”Autonomous-Growth AI Humanoid Strategic Research Team.\”
The project is organized as a global collaboration that includes domestic research institutes and universities as well as research centers in the U.S. and Europe.
The objective goes beyond basic R&D; the program aims to deliver humanoid robots that can be deployed in industry and everyday life.
Put simply, the focus is not on a \”moving robot\” but on an AI partner that can make judgments and work autonomously.
Factory Deployment Moves Closer to Reality
Verification on Actual Production Lines

KGeneral Motors will play a central role in the collaboration by offering its automotive production processes as real-world testbeds to assess how effectively robots can be deployed on the factory floor.
In particular, the partnership will concentrate on high-difficulty tasks such as ▲parts transfer ▲assembly operations ▲inspection procedures
to rigorously evaluate performance and safety.
This effort is significant because it moves beyond laboratory prototypes toward development premised on real industrial application.
