From the GV90 to the G80 and GV80 HYBE Lead
Genesis ends its lineup drought
Strategy: bolster electrification and flagship models simultaneously

Genesis is launching an aggressive expansion of its model lineup.
The company plans to introduce six new models this year and a total of eight by next year, a markedly faster cadence than before.
After years of introducing roughly two new models annually, this push marks a clear end to what critics called a lineup gap.
The expansion is also central to Genesis’s plan to reach its 2030 global sales target of 350,000 units per year.
GV90 debut
Completing the flagship SUV portfolio

The GV90 is the headline model for Genesis this year. As the brand’s first full-size electric SUV, it will sit at the top of the lineup.
The latest prototype revealed 24-inch oversized wheels and a B-pillar–less coach-door layout, features that amplify its luxury presence.
Underpinning the GV90 is a dual-motor AWD system paired with a battery of 113 kWh or more. Estimates put output in the 500–600 hp range and range approaching 800 km.
Inside, Genesis is pitching an “open lounge” cabin that treats the vehicle as a mobile premium space rather than just transportation.
First rollout of the HYBE Lead
A signal of strategic change

Genesis will introduce its first HYBE Lead models this year.
The G80 HYBE Lead and GV80 HYBE Lead are scheduled to arrive before year-end.
With EV demand softening and global policy shifts creating uncertainty, the HYBE Lead is emerging as a pragmatic alternative.
The move signals Genesis’s shift away from a single-minded “all-in” electrification stance toward a diversified powertrain strategy.
Expanding to EREV
Widening the electrification playbook

Genesis also plans to add a GV70 EREV. An extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) drives like an EV while an onboard engine acts as a generator to significantly extend range.
This approach helps mitigate charging infrastructure limits while preserving the EV driving experience, a proposition gaining traction in key global markets.
‘A new decade’ — Genesis’s big bet

After surpassing 1.5 million cumulative sales in its first decade, Genesis is plotting its next phase of growth.
With a full-lineup strategy that spans a flagship electric SUV, HYBE Lead variants and EREV models, the brand is stepping up its global premium-market push.
Industry analysts say the GV90 could be the inflection point that elevates Genesis into a bona fide luxury marque.
