Incheon, South Korea – The Gyeyang Police Department has filed charges against a man in his 30s, identified only as “A,” for allegedly driving under the influence and causing a multi-vehicle collision. The incident, which occurred on February 3rd, has raised concerns about road safety in the area.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect was operating a sports utility vehicle (SUV) at approximately 12:05 AM when he lost control and crashed into a residential complex wall. The vehicle then careened into three parked cars along the street, causing significant damage.
Emergency services responded to the scene, and the driver was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. While the extent of his injuries was not disclosed, authorities confirmed that the collision resulted in substantial damage to both the vehicles involved and surrounding property.
Following standard protocol, police obtained a blood sample from the suspect and submitted it to the National Forensic Service for analysis. The results indicated a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 0.08%, well above the legal limit and grounds for immediate license revocation in South Korea.
A spokesperson for the Gyeyang Police Department stated, “The suspect’s condition is stable and not life-threatening. We will be conducting a thorough investigation to determine the full circumstances of the incident.” The case highlights ongoing efforts to combat drunk driving and improve road safety measures in the region.
