Lee Hae-jin, chairman of Naver’s board, has launched an assertive push into artificial intelligence for defense. He has positioned defense AI as Naver’s next major business pillar, created a dedicated unit, and begun targeting the national-security market. Lee is scheduled to meet NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang on June 5.
The two companies have expanded cooperation around sovereign AI. With NVIDIA’s GPUs and AI infrastructure likely to serve as core components for defense systems, observers will watch whether the meeting yields concrete agreements on defense AI, physical AI and AI infrastructure.
On June 1, Naver Cloud announced the launch of a dedicated Defense AX (AI Transformation) task force (TF).
This is Naver’s first AI organization devoted exclusively to defense. Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won will lead the Defense AX TF.
A distinguishing feature of the Defense AX TF is the deployment of Field Deployment Engineers (FDEs) to design and implement tailored AI solutions directly in operational settings. FDEs support on-site AI system deployment and operations—a model Palantir used as it expanded work with U.S. defense and intelligence customers. The TF will operate as a cross-functional unit combining AI model development, business development and other related teams.
Naver plans to deliver defense-focused AI solutions built on its foundation models, cloud infrastructure and sovereign AI capabilities. It also intends to apply omnimodal AI—systems that fuse text, image and voice data to reason and generate outputs—to military applications.
Earlier, Sung Nak-ho, head of hyperscale AI technology at Naver Cloud, said at Naver Cloud’s Public AX Strategy Seminar in Sejong in April, “Naver Cloud is the only domestic company with omnimodal AI technology that can combine text, image and voice data to reason and generate outputs.” He added the company will concentrate its capabilities on analyzing complex battlefield situations and supporting military strategic decision-making.
Industry observers say the TF’s creation reflects Naver’s strategic effort to secure technological autonomy and data sovereignty in the defense sector. Lee has actively backed the initiative. He will meet Jensen Huang when Huang visits South Korea after attending NVIDIA’s annual AI event in Taiwan on June 5. The industry is watching whether their meeting will help crystallize Naver’s strategies for defense AI, physical AI and AI infrastructure.
Lee and Huang have met several times in recent years in Korea and Taiwan to discuss AI collaboration. In October they agreed to jointly develop a physical AI platform. Last month, Jensen Huang’s eldest daughter, Madison Huang, senior director at NVIDIA, visited Naver’s 1784 building to discuss technical and business cooperation in depth.
During Huang’s October visit—dubbed the “first Kanbu meeting”—Naver received 60,000 GPUs, 10,000 more than the 50,000 allocations to Samsung Electronics, SK and Hyundai Motor Group.
Naver owns the large language model HyperClova X, cloud infrastructure, digital-twin and robotics technologies. Analysts say combining those assets with NVIDIA’s GPUs and industrial AI platform could expand cooperation beyond sovereign AI into physical AI and defense applications.

푸조 e-208과 e-2008 SUV는 컴팩트한 사이즈와 합리적인 가격 등으로 유럽 시장에서 인정받고 있다. 국내에선 50kWh 배터리를 탑재해 e-208의 경우 1회 충전으로 환경부 기준 280km, e-2008 SUV는 260km까지 주행할 수 있으며 100kW 출력의 급속 충전기 기준으로 30분 만에 약 80%의 배터리를 충전한다.

DS 3 크로스백 E-텐스는 60개월 무이자 할부 프로그램의 경우 선납금 30%와 45% 중 선택할 수 있다. 30% 상품은 월540,000 KRW (approximately 405.00 USD), 45% 상품은 월390,000 KRW (approximately 292.50 USD)대에 이용할 수 있다. 60개월 운용 리스 프로그램은 선납금에 따라 월240,000 KRW (approximately 180.00 USD) 또는 390,000 KRW (approximately 292.50 USD)대로 운용할 수 있다.
