An Idaho man who’s won the lottery 18 times over 30 years is now a viral sensation.
The Idaho Lottery recently posted on Instagram, “Could lightning strike 18 times?” and shared the story of local resident Robert Bevan. Bevan had stopped by the lottery office to claim a $50,000 (approximately 75 million KRW) prize from the Million Dollar King Scratch game.
When staff checked his records to process the payout, they realized Bevan had won a total of 18 times. His incredible run began in 1997, when he won the “Blazer Bucks” promotion and drove away in one of seven Chevrolet four-door Blazers.

Since then, Bevan has claimed prizes ranging from about $1,000 (approximately 1.5 million KRW) up to $200,000 (approximately 300 million KRW). Explaining his streak, he said, “My wife and I have always bought tickets for fun. I’d grab one when I stopped for gas, while grocery shopping, or on the way home. It just became part of life.”
When asked how it felt to have so many wins, he smiled and said, “My real good fortune has been meeting my wonderful wife and spending 40 years together.”
