Tempur Cinema celebrates its 11th anniversary this year, and what began as a quirky experiment has evolved into a destination for luxe relaxation and movie nights. Launched by Tempur and CGV on July 22, 2015, the concept—pairing mattresses with motion beds—quickly drew attention from film fans both in Korea and abroad. Over 11 years, 780,000 visitors (over 75,000 a year) have experienced a new kind of cinema comfort.
What makes Tempur Cinema stand out isn’t plush seating—it’s sleep technology rooted in NASA research. Every spot comes with a Tempur mattress, an adjustable motion bed, and a Tempur pillow. The mattress’ tens of billions of open cells disperse pressure evenly, and when paired with a motion base tuned to it, viewers feel less physical strain during long screenings and can truly settle into the film.
The layout favors private, cocooned spaces to boost immersion and showcase Tempur’s signature pressure relief. It’s the kind of foam-mattress ease that makes you feel like you’re watching at home—only better—with an adjustable motion bed for added convenience. Guests who customize their Tempur setup during a movie often say, “It’s comfier than my couch,” underscoring Tempur Cinema’s unique appeal. Since launching at CGV Cine de Chef’s Apgujeong and Centum City locations in 2015, Tempur Cinema has expanded to six screens across five locations: △Yongsan I’Park Mall (A & B) △Apgujeong △Centum City (Busan) △Pangyo △Shinsegae Gyeonggi.
