A story about a mom who stopped by a small snack shop alone with her baby—and was able to finish her meal thanks to the owners’ kindness—is making waves online.
Recently, a mother identified only as A shared the moment on her personal social media. After being out, she dropped into a neighborhood snack shop and ordered gimbap (Korean seaweed rice rolls) and noodles.
She took the food while wearing a baby carrier and sat down, but quickly realized actually eating would be tough. As she awkwardly nibbled, the shop owner came over to check on her.
The owner asked, “Is your baby shy with strangers? Would you be all right if I held them?” When she asked, “Would you be okay with that?” he gently picked up the baby.
He told her, “Take your time and eat,” then stepped outside cradling the baby. He even showed the little one some flowers and took them for a short walk.
The mom said she was moved to tears watching the owner stroll outside with her baby while she finally ate in peace.
She added that the owner’s husband stood outside smiling as he watched his wife and the baby. The whole scene gave her a warm flashback to her early days of parenting.
All through the meal, the couple kept cooing over how adorable the baby was. After she finished and thanked them repeatedly, they walked her to the door and saw her off with warm smiles.
She ended the post saying, “I left today feeling renewed faith in humanity.”
