[EPN NPinow Reporter Seo Hye-bin] Chef Choi Kang-rok lays bare his extraordinary obsession with tuna on Yokjido.
SBS’s “Choegang Road — Food Spoiler” airs at 9 p.m. on the 12th, sending Choi Kang-rok, Kim Do-yoon, Defconn and chef Jung Ho-young to Yokjido for a special tuna-focused tour.
The four visit a tuna farm that’s rare even in Korea. Choi grabs attention when he admits, “I loved tuna so much I once joined a tuna company,” sharing a previously untold chapter of his tuna-filled life.
Standing before the massive tuna pens floating off Yokjido, Choi couldn’t contain his excitement and finally chased a long-held dream: tuna fishing. Production insiders say the mood on set skyrocketed the moment an enormous tuna appeared.
Choi then unveiled his special raw-tuna tasting course. One inventive dish after another paired tuna sashimi with surprising ingredients, prompting Defconn to gush, “It feels like meeting my ideal on a trip.”
Jung Ho-young and Kim Do-yoon also go head-to-head in a tuna cook-off, each showing his own signature style. Earlier, Jung’s whispered banter with Choi hinted at playful chemistry, while Kim’s subtle competitive edge raised the stakes—leaving viewers eager to see what dishes they’ll plate.
Fans are left wondering which creation will win over the palate of Choi Kang-rok, the show’s self-proclaimed tuna obsessive.
