[MyDaily = Reporter Bang Geum-suk] Starbucks Korea said on May 6 that it will expand the Seoul specialty beverages, which had been offered at select Seoul stores, to all of its locations across the city.
The rollout covers the Seoul Sunset Omija Fizzio and the Seoul Makgeolli-Scented Cold Brew.
The Seoul Sunset Omija Fizzio is inspired by palace ponds and sunsets, while the Seoul Makgeolli-Scented Cold Brew blends coffee with the fragrant notes of makgeolli. Both drinks have drawn attention from domestic and international tourists visiting Seoul.
Starbucks Korea says it hopes these beverages will give visitors a locally tailored experience.
On social media and online forums, people have praised the drinks as menus that reflect a Seoul getaway and as beverages that incorporate traditional Korean elements.
Starbucks also debuted its summer seasonal Watermelon Juice Blended first at Seoul stores. The company plans to expand it nationwide at the end of the month.
Choi Hyun-jung, Starbucks’ head of food and beverage development, said, “We hope the Seoul specialty drinks become a highlight that adds to the romance of travel.”
