Daniel Kim Views

With family outings for Children’s Day, spring picnics and hands-on learning trips in full swing, snacks that pack real nutrition for growing kids are getting more attention. As kids stay active and burn more energy, parents are reaching for convenient bites that quickly restore fuel.

Daesang Wellife introduced a youth nutrition drink called NewCare Highmento Butter Cookie. The brand bottled that rich, buttery cookie flavor into a drink to better appeal to teens who want something familiar and tasty.

The product uses a 3-in-1 formula of B vitamins, taurine and L-arginine to help students recharge during study-heavy days. Sugar is kept low at just 4 g per pack, so it’s an easy, less-sugary option for daily routines.

It’s also balanced across the five major nutrients—protein, carbs, fats, vitamins and minerals—so it supports everyday nutrition. Each serving delivers 8 g of protein and 1,500 mg of BCAAs, designed to help active teens replenish strength and stamina.

ChungSik Foods’ Greenvia Kids Moa is built around a balanced five-nutrient formula tailored for growing children. It blends animal and plant proteins, includes the nine essential amino acids kids need during development, and packs 25 vitamins and minerals—like B vitamins and vitamin D—so parents can top up nutrition with one convenient drink. Sugar is about 6 g per 150 ml, roughly 64% less than the domestic mixed-beverage average (16.9 g), which helps cut down sweet overload.

Offered in a smooth, nutty plain flavor and a bright, tangy yogurt flavor, the line gives picky eaters options they’ll actually like. The product contains no preservatives or artificial food dyes and holds HACCP certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, so parents can feel confident serving it. It also comes in a kid-sized 150 ml aseptic six-layer sterilized pack that stores at room temperature—perfect for backpacks and unlikely to go to waste.

Pulmuone Danone’s Yogurtok is a grab-and-go yogurt snack that needs no prep. The flip-style cup lets kids break off toppings—think crunchy balls and biscuits—and fold them into plain yogurt for a fun mix of textures and flavors. The lineup includes Star Ball, Choco Granola and Choco Pillow & Crunch, and the recent Lemon Biscuit & Meringue adds a bright new option.

CJ CheilJedang rolled out two varieties of Matkong made from protein-rich whole soybeans. Offered as chickpea and black soybean options, they keep a moist texture and a savory, nutty taste. The 50 g single-serve packs are easy to tote, with about 4 g of protein from the chickpea version and 8 g from the black soybean version—handy for quick nutrition on the go.

Other convenient hunger-fighters are also trending. Kellogg’s low-sugar granola cuts sugar by roughly 80% using selected sweeteners like oligosaccharides, honey and stevia to deliver a gentle sweetness. It features seven whole grains—including the ancient grain farro, whole oats, whole wheat, whole rye and black barley—for toasty flavor and crunchy texture, and provides the dietary fiber equivalent of about 1.8 bananas to round out the nutrition profile.

Orion introduced Market O Nature One Meal Bar in Cheese flavor as a tasty, healthier meal alternative. The bar is made from a dough aged with Camembert and cheddar cheeses plus roasted almonds, then baked to develop deep cheese notes and a tender but substantial texture.

Per 1 bar (40 g), sugar is kept low at 1.9 g—about the amount in three cherry tomatoes—while protein is 6 g (comparable to one egg) and dietary fiber is 6 g (roughly the fiber in one apple), so it can stand in for a balanced snack or light meal when needed.
