[EPN Enpinow reporter Go Nari] Lee Seung-gi donated his entire appearance fee to support children and families during KBS1’s Family Month special of Donghaeng.
On May 1, child-welfare organization Green Umbrella announced that Lee pledged the full fee he received for appearing on KBS1’s ‘Donghaeng’ charity special to vulnerable child households across South Korea.
Returning to ‘Donghaeng’ roughly 11 years after his 2015 Lunar New Year appearance, Lee visited Hyunseong’s home, spent meaningful time with the family, and formed a special bond.
On the episode, Lee helped in the family’s garden alongside Hyunseong, who has been steadily progressing with his family’s encouragement after being diagnosed with language and developmental delays. Lee personally presented Hyunseong with a pair of shoes to show his support.
During the visit, Lee listened as Hyunseong talked about helping with chores and walking to school on his own. The family shared heartfelt moments together; Hyunseong was bright and proactive, even showing his gratitude by making a mix coffee for his family.
Green Umbrella will use the donation to support Hyunseong’s household and other children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The story of Lee and the Hyunseong family—a touching reminder of love and responsibility during Family Month—will air as a KBS1 ‘Donghaeng’ special on May 2 at 6 p.m.
