On the 25th, KBS 1TV’s ‘Dongne Hanbawi’ aired a segment where Lee Man-gi sampled hallabong noodles in Geochang.
At first skeptical about the idea of noodles made from hallabong, Lee Man-gi went along and discovered a noodle factory on site.
Two daughters were helping out at the factory, intent on carrying on the noodle recipe their father had researched for 40 years. Finally, Lee Man-gi got to see the hallabong noodles he had been curious about.
The hallabong noodles—stunning for their color—were displayed alongside other varieties made with ingredients like chives and kabocha squash.
Lee Man-gi marvelled, “It looks like royal court cuisine. The color is so beautiful it’s almost a shame to eat.”
