Next week, Songdo turns into a ramen lover’s playground. The Songdo Ramen Expo — celebrating Korea’s beloved comfort food — runs March 26–29 at Incheon’s Songdo Convensia, bringing together about 70 companies from across the ramen world. Expect everything from instant and fresh noodles to ramen franchises, specialty ingredients, smart kitchen gadgets, and food-processing equipment.
One standout is Jungwoo Technics, a packaging specialist with 30 years under its belt. The company will debut the “Orange Container,” a microwave-ready ramen bowl designed to replace the traditional Hangang Ramen cooker. It promises a steaming bowl in just three minutes—whether you’re at home, in the office, or camping—no stove required.
Made 100% in Korea, the Orange Container features a cool-touch handle and BPA-free materials for safer use. It also comes with a secure, safety-tested lid that helps produce chewier, more flavorful noodles. Beyond favorites like Buldak Bokkeum Myun and Jjapagetti, it’s ideal for quick microwave meals—think frozen fried rice—making it a smart choice for single-person households and the ready-meal market.
Jungwoo Technics CEO Oh Seung-young says, “Hangang Ramen is loved across generations, but cooking options have been limited. The Orange Container lets anyone with a microwave enjoy the Hangang Ramen experience anywhere.” He adds that the goal went beyond convenience: “We designed a product that prioritizes safety and the environment so people can use it with confidence.”

Jungwoo Technics launched its food-packaging container business in 1994 and has steadily invested in equipment and R&D to build a reliable production base and competitive edge. A recent expansion with a second factory has boosted production capacity and broadened the company’s reach.
At the expo, Jungwoo will push its message of “changing how people enjoy ramen,” aiming to raise brand awareness and open new distribution and partnership opportunities. Organizers say the show will serve as a platform for industry collaboration and enhanced consumer experiences—an event that could strengthen Korea’s ramen sector and help it expand globally.
