Lotte Mart is launching a line of ‘Hand-Carry’ gift sets that are light enough for customers to easily purchase and transport, just in time for the Lunar New Year holiday rush.

Last year’s sales data revealed a surge in Hand-Carry gift set purchases as the holiday approached. Lightweight, practical gifts under 30,000 KRW (about 22.50 USD), including small fruit assortments, seaweed, and nuts, made up half of all gift set sales in the week leading up to the holiday. In response, Lotte Mart has more than doubled its selection of fresh Hand-Carry gift sets this year, featuring an expanded range of fruits and seafood options.

The fruit Hand-Carry gift sets now include a mix of domestic and imported fruits. The popular ‘Carefully Selected Mixed Fruits’ set has been downsized from 4 kg to 3 kg for easier handling. Shoppers can now choose from eight varieties, up from the previous five and eleven options. A new addition to the lineup is the ‘Peruvian Apple Mango (6 pieces)’ Hand-Carry box.

For seafood lovers, Lotte Mart offers the ‘Large Domestic Octopus Gift Set’ featuring a 2 kg octopus. There’s also the ‘Patagonian Fresh Salmon Gift Set’ with air-freighted salmon and assorted sauces in one convenient box. For those who want it all, the ‘Patagonian Fresh Salmon Combo Set’ includes both fresh and smoked salmon.

Budget-conscious shoppers can snag the ‘Dongwon Yangban Perilla Oil Set’ or ‘CJ Bibigo Seaweed No. 5’ for just 9,900 KRW (about 7.43 USD) each. Plus, buy ten and get one free!

Nut lovers, rejoice! The bestselling ‘Daily Nuts One Handful 80 Bags’ and ‘Daily Nuts One Bag 80 Bags’ are available for around 29,000 KRW (about 21.75 USD) each. For a steal, grab the ‘Nuts Box Daily Nuts Set 20 Bags’ at 19,000 KRW (about 14.25 USD) with a buy-one-get-one-free deal. Feeling fancy? The bottle-shaped ‘Masterpiece Nuts & Dried Fruits 10 Types’ set offers premium goodies for about 39,000 KRW (about 29.25 USD).

All these gift sets come in specially designed packages with handles, perfect for long trips home. Plus, they’re shelf-stable, making them ideal for those traveling by public transport.

Don’t forget to check out the processed foods and everyday items, also available in Hand-Carry sets with amazing deals like buy-one-get-one-free offers and discounts up to 50% off.

Shin Eun-jung, Lotte Mart’s product strategy guru, says, “We’ve created these Hand-Carry gift sets for last-minute shoppers who want to bring something special home for the holidays. With our cute packaging and wallet-friendly prices ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 KRW (about 7.50 to 22.50 USD), we’re making it easy for everyone to be the favorite relative this Lunar New Year!”
