Starbucks Korea is set to delight coffee lovers nationwide on February 11th with the launch of the wildly popular ‘Dubai Chocolate’ beverages, fresh from their North American success.
The new lineup features two irresistible options: the ‘Iced Dubai Chocolate Mocha’ and the ‘Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha’. These trendy sips, which first hit the scene in the U.S. and Canada last January, caused quite a stir by turning a customer-favorite Dubai chocolate flavor into official menu items.
As the Dubai chocolate craze continued to sweep the nation, Starbucks couldn’t ignore the chorus of “I wish we had those in Korea!” from eager fans. Answering the call, they’ve decided to bring these sought-after drinks to Korean shores, using the exact same recipes that have Americans buzzing.
First up, the ‘Iced Dubai Chocolate Mocha’ is a coffee lover’s dream. It marries rich espresso with a decadent chocolate mocha sauce, creating a deep, luxurious coffee experience. The pièce de résistance? A velvety pistachio cream cold foam that crowns the drink, taking its nutty goodness to new heights.
For those who prefer their indulgence caffeine-free, the ‘Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha’ is a match made in heaven. This non-coffee option beautifully balances pistachio sauce with the sweet yet slightly bitter notes of matcha. A dreamy chocolate cream cold foam tops it off, adding a silky smooth sweetness to every sip.
Both beverages are visual stunners, using layered cold foam to recreate the iconic colors and aesthetics of Dubai chocolate. Given the enduring popularity of chocolate and matcha flavors among Korean customers, these globally-inspired creations are expected to be an instant hit.
Choi Hyun-jung, Starbucks’ head of food and beverage development, couldn’t contain her excitement: “We’re thrilled to bring these much-requested Dubai beverages to Korea through our global collaboration. We’re committed to continuously expanding our customers’ experiences by crafting menus that reflect their desires and the latest trends.”
