Nikka Frontier: Japan’s 2024 Whiskey Revolution Launching in Korea – What to Expect!
Daniel Kim Views

NIKKA Whisky has selected Korea as the inaugural international market for its new product, ‘NIKKA FRONTIER,’ launching in Japan in 2024 to commemorate the company’s 90th anniversary.
To mark this exciting milestone, NIKKA is hosting a two-week pop-up event from February 27 to March 11 in the basement of The Hyundai Seoul.
This fresh offering is a tribute to the trailblazing spirit of NIKKA’s founder, Masataka Taketsuru, who laid the groundwork for Japanese whisky. What sets NIKKA FRONTIER apart is its impressive malt whisky content – over 51% – featuring peated malt from NIKKA’s original Yoichi distillery.
To maintain the whisky’s authentic flavors, NIKKA employs a ‘Non-Chill Filtered’ process and cranks up the ABV to 48%, resulting in a deliciously complex profile. The addition of NIKKA’s signature grain whisky creates a perfect harmony of smokiness and silky smoothness.
The bottle design is a visual feast, blending heritage with modernity. A bold ‘N’ emblem graces the front, while the back features an embossed traditional Japanese ‘Shimenawa’ pattern – a nod to quality and safety.
At the Hyundai Seoul pop-up, whisky enthusiasts can indulge in NIKKA FRONTIER tastings and participate in a mouthwatering food pairing session with Chef Kim Hee-eun from ‘Black and White Chef 2.’ For cocktail lovers, top Asian mixologists from hotspots like Le Chamber, Zest, and Soko will be shaking things up with their ‘Floating Highball’ class.
Don’t miss your chance to snag a bottle of the limited-edition ‘Miyagikyo Single Malt 10-Year’ during the event. Can’t make it to the pop-up? No worries! NIKKA FRONTIER will hit the shelves of Hyundai Department Store wine shops nationwide from February 27.
