A story about a damaged jacket that came back from repair with embroidery so good it looked better than new has gone viral. On May 5, a user on an online forum posted a thread titled “Kolon is seriously crazy.” The poster, identified only as A, said they bought the jacket during a brand sale and, on the 27th of last month, fell off their bike and tore the pocket badly. They shared photos of the damage. The images show a khaki jacket with severe tearing at the front pocket, ripped clear through in one spot.

A said the repair center told them a perfect restoration would be difficult. The staff reportedly said, “There’s no option except embroidery. For garments with clear sections, like suits, fabric replacement might work, but with so many design elements, that’s not possible.” Still, the center promised to “do our best,” so A left the jacket with mixed feelings but hopeful. The repaired jacket arrived by courier on the 5th. When A opened the box, they were stunned: a natural-looking, tree-shaped embroidery completely covered the damaged area, blending in as if it had always been part of the design. A admitted that if the repair had looked messy they wouldn’t have worn it, but the embroidery’s color melted into the fabric so naturally that they were relieved. “It made me think, ‘Big-brand clothes are good for a reason,'” they said, adding that they’re just grateful to the person who fixed it. Netizens who saw the photos praised the craftsmanship. Comments included, “It basically turned into a limited edition,” and, “At this point I’d rip it on purpose just to get it repaired like that.” #clothes #repair #damage Yonhap News TV — For inquiries or tips: KakaoTalk/Line jebo23; Junheum Lee (humi@yna.co.kr)
