As President Trump’s second term gets underway, a 23-year-old new-media reporter who just gained White House access has become a global talking point.
On the 26th, the British Telegraph ran a story about the controversy surrounding Natalie Winters, a conservative podcast reporter. The paper described her as a “MAGA correspondent who brought ‘war’ to the White House press room,” noting that her shoulder-length blonde hair and white miniskirt gave some the impression of a “wayward cheerleader.” A few mainstream columnists even likened her outfit to the uniforms worn by waitstaff at the U.S. restaurant chain Hooters.
Winters, four years younger than Caroline—the youngest-ever White House press secretary at 27—has been a frequent topic on social media for her flashy, provocative wardrobe. She arrived at the White House press room wearing the same style she’s known for, and drew attention from her very first day on the beat. Winters shared photos from that first day on her social accounts, captioning them, “Officially a White House correspondent.” In the pictures she wore a black knit top, a white miniskirt, white socks, and white sneakers.
